“Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’Ole
As Iris's son, I feel compelled to ask for this: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Violet. 'Cause I'm even more curious than you are.— elysian3-deactivated20120807
I see what you did there, and I like it. I like it a lot. As a son of Aphrodite I tend to enjoy talking about myself, so I’ll share some of my innermost musings with you — but only because I like you, Butch. Remember what I said about those plans…
Red: Archery (no surprise), listening to records (legit records, not that CD or MP3 crap you mortals seem to be so fond of nowadays), poetry, basketball, gardening, horseback riding, and underwater basket weaving. And pranking people… gods and mortals alike.
Orange: If I told you, I’d have to kill you. ;) Olympus, with Psyche.
Yellow: I don’t really see myself settling down anywhere for an extended period of time. I’m sort of a nomad — I go wherever I’m needed or wherever I want to be. Plus I’m already so freaking old I’ve already been everywhere there is to be.
Green: So my mom would hate me telling you this, but I think it’s a little bit funny.
One time after I hadn’t seen her for a while, I think around the sixth century or so, I ran up to her to hug her and kiss her cheek. I was young and fairly careless at this point and as we embraced one of my arrows scratched her. I didn’t think much of it, but it turns out that the cut was a lot deeper than I thought at first, and then she met this mortal guy named Adonis, and… ya know… the rest is history.
Blue: I never went to elementary school too cool for school, but I am still cordial with a lot of the gods I originally interacted with in my younger days. Hermes and Nyx are probably the two gods I would consider closest to what you call friends.
Purple: Six years ago. My daughter Amy. The last time I saw her she was four months old. It was getting too dangerous to see her so much since I left my scent on her each time, and, ya know… monsters and stuff. So I held her and kissed her one more time before I left for a short stay on Olympus before settling in at Camp Half-Blood.
Violet: Pfft, the School of Hard Knocks. I’m kidding, kid. College is a mortal thing. I don’t have the time or patience for that nonsense. Though I’m really fond of the University of Florida’s basketball team. Go Gators!
